Donut Land!

For three sweet friends on a very sweet adventure.
On a morning so sweet you could taste it in the air,
Porter woke up and shook out her cotton candy hair.
1
"Isla! Wake up!" Porter said with a shout.
"I found a golden ticket! Let's figure this out!"
2
The ticket said: DONUT LAND — OPEN TODAY!
Free rides! Free sprinkles! Come out and play!
3
So they packed up their bags (well, just snacks and a bear)
and followed the rainbow that hung in the air.
4
The gates were ENORMOUS — made of waffle and cream.
"This," whispered Isla, "is better than a dream."
5
There were donut trees growing in every direction,
and rivers of glaze in a chocolate collection!
6
Then they heard a small voice from behind a gumdrop hill:
"Hello? Is someone there? I've been sitting so still!"
7
Out rolled a donut — pink frosted and round,
with big sparkly eyes and a giggle for a sound.
"I'm Harper!" she said. "Will you be my new friends?"
8
"YES!" said Porter. "Yes, yes, and again!"
Isla flapped her frosting wings. "Let's go explore then!"
9
They rode the Sprinkle Coaster — WHOOOOSH! — through the sky,
and Harper kept giggling, "I'm a donut who can FLY!"
10
They swam in the Glaze Pool (it was warm and it was sticky).
"Getting out," laughed Porter, "is going to be tricky!"
11
They had a sprinkle fight — red and blue and green!
It was the most colorful battle you have EVER seen.
12
When the sun made of butterscotch started to set,
Harper said softly, "This is the best day yet."
13
"Will you come back?" asked Harper. "Will you visit me soon?"
Porter hugged her and said, "We'll be back by the moon."
14
Because the best thing in life isn't donuts or cake —
it's the friends that you find and the memories you make.

The End 🍦🧁🍩
